Upload a PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel or HTML file up to 4 MB and get Markdown back. You need no account, and the file is not stored.

PDFs come back as plain text without headings. This page reads only the text layer, so a scanned PDF comes back empty. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HTML keep their headings, lists and tables.

To convert pasted HTML, use the HTML to Markdown tool.

In your own code

The same conversion is one POST /v1/convert call for files up to 8 MB. Files up to 25 MB and 200 pages go through the queue, which runs OCR and detects headings, reading order and tables.
