About flatmark

flatmark converts documents to Markdown for RAG pipelines and AI agents. It reads PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HTML through a REST API or an MCP server. The free tools work without an account.

How it converts

Files up to 8 MB convert in one API call with MarkItDown. Files up to 25 MB and 200 pages go through a queue that runs Docling with OCR and table detection. Both engines are open source under the MIT license. flatmark passes their output through unchanged and uses no language model.

Data

Direct calls and the free tools keep no file content. In the queue, the upload is deleted after conversion and the result 7 days after submission. The servers are at Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany. Details are in the privacy policy.
